Ph.D Admission:


1. Eligibility:

For admission to the Ph.D programme in a related subject in the faculty, applicants fulfilling the following criteria shall be treated as eligible:

  1. Person having a post Graduate Degree(Master Degree) Examination with at least 50% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average(GPA).
  2. Persons having passed Post-Graduate Degree (Master Degree) Examination Law Faculty with at least 55%..
  3. 5% relaxation for reserve category students of Maharashtra State only.

2. Exemption from appearing Written Test:

The candidates fulfilling one of the following conditions will be exempted from entrance examination.

  1. Qualified in GATE(valid score)/GPAT(valid score)/SET/NET/JRF/SRF Examinations of apex bodies such as CSIR/UGC/ICRA/ICMR/DBT and DST inspire fellowship only.
  2. M. Phil degree completed from any Statutory Recognized University in a relevant subject.
  3. The candidates are fulfilling the condition as per University Circular Nos:-

The candidates already qualified in Ph.D. Entrance Examination Paper- I conducted by University of Pune on 10th February, 2010 and 17th December, 2011 will be exempted for Paper- I.


3. Process:

  • After notification declared by university about the PhD admissions, students have to fill the form.
  • Eligible students have to appear for PET examination or have to fulfill eligibility criteria.
  • Eligible students for PhD admissions will be called to choose the PhD center of their choice.
  • PhD center will inform to the students about the schedule of interview for PhD admission.
  • The interview will be conducted by the approved panel of university.
  • On the basis of research area of students, the guide will be allotted by the research center.
  • The final list of selected students will be approved by the University.
  • Then research center will inform to the candidate for further procedure of admission.

  • The application form will be available only online on the website http://app1.unipune.ac.in/phd/default.htm
