Trustee, Amrutvahini Sheti and Shikshan Vikas Sanstha
Dr. Sudhir Bhaskarrao Tambe Patil is a renowned medical surgeon, a dedicated politician, and a staunch advocate of Gandhian Philosophy. He has been a representative of the Nashik Graduate Constituency in the Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) for three consecutive terms (2009, 2011, and 2017). Additionally, he is serving as a Trustee of the Amrutvahini Sheti and Shikshan Vikas Sanstha for over three decades.
Dr. Tambe envisions a healthy and holistic society and has actively taken steps to bring this vision to life. As the founder and mentor of Jai Hind Lok Chalval (Jai Hind People’s Movement), he focuses on education, empowerment (especially of women, youth, and children), entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, agriculture, and the well-being of villages. The movement, under his guidance, has played a pivotal role in transforming the lives of many individuals. An annual Global Conference dedicated to peace, harmony, and progress has been organized since 2020, attracting Gandhian leaders from around the world.
Demonstrating his commitment to inclusivity, Dr. Tambe has established Sangaram Mook-Badhir Vidyalaya (School for Dumb and Deaf Children) and Sangram Matimand Vidyalaya (School for mentally Retarded children) since 1993. He also serves as a trustee for an organization devoted to the integrated development of tribal communities. As the President of Sahyadri Bahujan Vikas Samaj, he oversees a network of 32 high schools and 10 junior colleges, providing quality education to over 10,000 students, particularly those from economically disadvantaged and specially privileged backgrounds. In his role as an MLC, he has actively addressed issues related to schools, non-aided schools, teachers, and infrastructure development.
Dr. Tambe's commitment extends to healthcare, where he serves as a Trustee of SMBT Sevabhavi Trust, focusing on rural healthcare facilities and medical education. He initiated the free Ambulance 108 service, offering emergency transportation and medical care to those in need. Dr. Tambe is equally dedicated to the welfare of farmers, having founded the Sangamner Taluka Agricultural Produce Processing & Marketing Co-operative Society (SHAMPRO) in 1998.
His involvement in literary movements is noteworthy, having presided over organizing committees for events like Akhil Bharatiya Bal Mahotsav, Bandhuta Sahitya Sammelan, and Marathi Navodit Sahitya Sammelan. On the political front, Dr. Tambe has held various positions, including Mayor of Sangamner Municipal Corporation, President of Sangamner Taluka and Ahmednagar District Congress Committee, and membership in the All-India Congress Committee. In recognition of his significant social contributions, Dr. Tambe has received prestigious awards such as the Vikas Ratna Award, Dr. Gupte State level Award, and Dr. Baba Amate award.
