The Department of Civil Engineering has been accredited five times by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA)and has also received an A+ grade from NAAC. The department is supported by well-qualified, experienced, ambitious, and dynamic faculty members.
The department started offering the B.E. programme in Civil Engineering in 1983 with an annual intake of 60 students. With increasing industry demand, the intake was enhanced from 60 to 120 in the academic year 2012–13. The department’s strength lies in its team of qualified and experienced faculty. A postgraduate programme, M.E. Civil (Structures), was introduced in 2007, and a Ph.D. research centre was established in 2020–21. Both programmes promote holistic development by emphasizing industry-oriented and research-based projects, equipping students with the skills required for professional success.
